About the iDiet
The iDiet is a transformational, easy-to-follow program for healthy, hunger-free and long-term weight loss. The iDiet is based on more than 20 years of research and clinical trials and has been called “the most comprehensive approach to eating for effective weight control” by the New York Times.
Permanent changes
The iDiet helps to retrain your brain™ for healthier eating and effortless weight loss by forming new food habits and new healthier cravings. fMRI scans have shown that brain activity in iDiet participants actually changes in response to food options, and that iDieters prefer healthier vs fattening foods over time.
The iDiet has been recommended by doctors for patients looking for:
- Long-term weight control
- Increased energy levels
- Lower cholesterol levels
- Reduced blood pressure
- Reduced aches and pains
- Prevention or treatment of Type 2 diabetes
- Reversal of metabolic syndrome
- Improved blood sugar levels
The iDiet programs are facilitated by an iDiet-trained Group Leader. The educational, fun and supportive group process leads to a typical weight loss of 25 pounds over 24 weeks.
Results like no other
In our recent worksite-based randomized trial, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, we showed six times the weight loss typically achieved in worksite programs.[1]
The iDiet’s effectiveness and its informative and supportive group process led to repeat sign-ups when additional iDiet programs were offered. Seventy-five percent of our community group participants sign up for more sessions.
Real health improvements
Weight loss of the magnitude iDiet provides has been shown to improve health in a variety of ways, including reversing type 2 diabetes and obstructive sleep apnea in a majority of subjects, reducing cardiovascular risk factors and medications, and reducing the need for gastric bypass surgery. Depending on the subject, this program can pay for itself through reduced healthcare costs alone in under one year.
When followed longitudinally, we find most of our dieters not only keep off the weight they lost in our program, but they continue to lose weight on their own.
Published, peer-reviewed results
The iDiet has been successfully delivered to thousands of dieters in communities and in corporate settings including universities, law firms, hospitals and Fortune 50 companies. Additionally, it has been extensively tested and results published in the world’s leading scientific journals. In addition to the paper cited above, other published studies showed that iDieters were less hungry and had fewer cravings than before starting the program.[2,3] Thanks to the iDiet program, unhealthy foods lose their addictive power over iDieters, helping them sustain their weight loss over the long term.
